Business Consulting Skill focuses on the challenges of the consulting profession. The program is aimed at managers who wish to pursue a career either as independent consultants or within a major consulting firm.

This program provides an understanding of the consulting process and organisational change together with the skills necessary to lead international consulting projects.
The following three modules make up the course content:
 
The Consulting Process

Methodology for Consulting Assignments
  • Entry, client brief, problems and symptoms, diagnosis, data collection, developing solutions and evaluating alter-natives, implementation, termination,
  • Types of consulting: internal and external consulting, objectives of consulting, consulting styles.
  • Proposals and assignment management: report writing, presentations, winning business, reporting to the client and to the consulting firm, measuring results and formulating proposals, implementation, follow-up & control.

Corporate Business Process for Consultants
This module aims to deal with the current issues facing companies in today¡¯s fast moving environment.

The module will examine a wide range of modern global business processes, challenges and opportunities from both the consultant¡¯s and the manager¡¯s perspectives and provide a learning platform to integrate and practice the skills and knowledge learned in the other modules in this program and the entire graduate business school curriculum.

At the end of this module participants will understand the Business Processes which will ensure the growth and success of a company and contribute to its competitiveness. They will also understand how organizations grow and evolve over time and how they should/can adapt to the surrounding business environment whilst taking into account their own strategy and constraints.

  • Consulting successes and failures in diverse industries, nations, business size and business cultures
  • Consulting opportunities in top priority business needs, including business growth and cost structures
  • Lectures on diverse elements of the consulting industry, including M&A, Turnarounds, Internal Consulting, Client-consultant issues, and the impact of recent corporate scan-dals on the global consulting industry
  • The findings from individual Internet research on diverse consulting firms and consulting opportunities
  • Real-life examples of current consulting assignments/topics
Developing Consulting Expertise
The module builds on Organisational Behaviour and Change Management theory and has three main objectives:
 
  • The students will develop an expertise in Organisational Consulting in order to deploy their skills in both large and small companies to ensure that the organisational structure maximises performance.
  • Students will be introduced to the role of creativity in today¡¯s business and to make them aware of skills, techniques, and conditions they can develop to foster creativity both in their own organisations and their clients¡¯ organisations
  • Finally the module will look at the commercial environment in which consulting skills will be deployed, focusing on the challenges facing consulting firms and individual consultants and on how to run a successful consulting practice in today¡¯s environment.
